The following three Documentaries are the ones I would say are the priority to see
and I here kept the introduction text that I initially included. I have not found
the time and energy to include such comments for all the movies in the main list.

HISTORY OF THE WORLD IN TWO HOURS Fantastic introduction / summary of the history of the world and how everything that happens is related. From the beginning of time as we know it to present day. The key turning points: the formation of earth, emergence of life, spread of man and the growth of civilization and their connections to our world today. There must be some inaccuracy in the numbers they provide. They constantly repeat that it is "the world in two hours", however, the video lasts 90 minutes. They in the total time probably include all the advertising when it is on TV.

EARTH FROM ABOVE ("LA TERRE VUE DU CIEL") This is a documentary that aims to generate public environmental awareness and is also a fantastic opportunity to see what our world is made of and looks like. Earth from Above (‘la Terre vue du ciel’) was made by Yann Arthus-Bertrand a French man supported by UNESCO. It was translated into 24 languages and sold over 3 million copies. In 1994 Arthus-Bertrand started a thorough study on the state of the Earth. The photographer captured views of the world from various aircraft during a ten-year period. On 22 April 2009 he was officially designated as the United Nations Environment Program Goodwill Ambassador (UNEP).

“THE SALT OF THE EARTH” FILM Salt of The Earth follows Brazilian photographer Sebastião Salgado who has travelled through the continents in the footsteps of an ever-changing humanity, documenting some of the most horrific and catastrophic events on our planet. He took striking images to create works that allowed viewers to bear witness to glimmers of hope and humanity in the face of almost unimaginable misery.
